I know you're all anxiously awaiting the Juice Cleanse update from Day 1, so here it is.  To review from my first post, I chose to do the 3 day "Semi Cleanse" from the people at Juice Served Here because I felt I personally jived with their philosophy, and their stuff looks cute.

My alarm went off at 7:55am, I had a 9am meeting with my boss so I knew I had to get going or else I'd be all groggy for the meeting.  I'm not much of a morning person at all.  I got out of bed, drank a few sips (maybe close to a cup?) of room temp SmartWater and then opened my fridge.  I looked at the juice and I couldn't do it.  It was way too cold in the house and cold juice just did not appeal at all to me.  What would fix this, I thought?  Aha! Didn't I get tea with this cleanse?

So I brewed the LAX tea and it was quite lovely.  According to the website, the tea contains rosebuds, gotu kola, goji berries, schizandra, pau d'arco, chamomile, spearmint and raspberry leaves. Once I got that halfway down, I started the meeting with my boss and sipped on the Sweet Greens which was to be my first juice of the day.  Yum! I could drink that every day.

Took me awhile to sip down the first juice.  Not because it wasn't delicious but because it takes me awhile to drink things that aren't delicious tequila, especially while working. When I start getting engrossed in my work I don't eat like I should, at least when I'm working from home, which is strange considering the fridge is just steps away.  I'm hoping that this juice cleanse will also help trigger me back into the habit of eating and drinking every 3 hours.

A few hours later I drank The Pipe Cleaner, whew! Super strong with ginger flavor!  I loved it though.  Weirdly, when it got to be around 1245 in the afternoon, I started thinking about making lunch.  This is usually around the time I make lunch at home, (when I'm on the road I eat in between meetings) and I had to internally remind myself there will be no food until Sunday.  I figured maybe I just needed to chew something, so I tried some of the Superfood Bar and was blown away by how delicious it was. I put away half the bar just in case I needed to chew more later.  I also sipped on the Green Easy for "lunch" which was super refreshing, like a great salad.  I had to finish working and get to my dentist appointment, so I did a quick dry brushing, hopped in a steamy shower (because we're detoxing, right?!) and took Block Rockin' Beets with me in the car.  Every time I look or think about this juice, The Chemical Brothers play in my head.  Can't help it!  I was most scared of all for this juice.  I am not a beet lover.  I'm not a beet hater per se, I just haven't had enough experiences with them to decide if I'm in or out.  Mainly this juice worried me because of the jalapeno.  I was pleasantly surprised sipping this juice on my way to the dentist.  I can't really explain what it tasted like, but it wasn't bad.  Not too bad at all.

After my teeth were cleaned I felt kinda hungry, but I think that's because it was getting to dinner time and I drove by like 13 delicious restaurants.  When I got home, I ate the rest of my superfood bar and the Green Milk.  Although it gave me that "milk and cookies" snack vibe, the Green Milk was my least favorite of all of the things I tried yesterday.  I can't put my finger on it, but it just wasn't my favorite.

Around 8pm it was time for soup, and I found myself in an internal struggle.  Since I didn't receive a detox booklet with my shipment, I wasn't sure about the soup.  It was marked on the cap when to eat it so I knew when to have it, but it is raw soup.  Should it have been served cold like gazpacho? Since I live in Buffalo and drinking cold juice all day was not helping my body temperature, I decided to heat it but not to the point of boiling, just so it was warm and comforting.  Some review I had read about this soup indicated it tasted "like drinking a pizza."  I can attest to this, it absolutely tasted like drinking a slice of delicious artisan pizza.  It was warm and filling and I just absolutely loved it.

Around 1030pm I drank the Charcoal Lemonade as I was planning to head to bed around 11:30.  I was pretty scared of this drink (I mean, CLAY?!) but it was actually really tasty and had just enough sweetness and tartness to satisfy a before-bed sweet tooth.

To summarize day 1: I felt good, I had a good amount of energy and other than the ride home from the dentist, didn't feel hungry.  Nothing astonishing happened in the bathroom realm other than I urinated more than I normally would.  On to day 2!
